The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed a helicopter crash in Igbokoda, headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred on Monday, October 5, 2026, in the coastal community, sparking panic among residents.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the crash, saying authorities were still working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Abayomi urged residents of Igbokoda and neighbouring communities to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
He said the police would provide further details once credible information became available.
A community leader also confirmed the crash, but said the exact location and other details were not immediately known.
