Again bandits in Zamfara state have abducted more than 40 residents including police officers and Civilians Joint Task Force (CJTF) in an early morning raid on Kasuwar Daji district of Kaura Namoda council of the state this morning.
The Nigerian police in Zamfara and parents of the abducted residents told newsmen on phone that the incident occurred today after they overpowered the only police post present to protect the community.
The resultant battle between the bandits and the security agents which occurred at about 1am this morning was said to have caused four police men and two civilian jtf officials to perish while more than 40 women and children were abducted in their trails.
Several other residents who were lucky to scamper in the pitch darkness to avoid being captured were injured in the renewed attack on the Zamfara community on Tuesday,  in Kasuwar Daji of Kauran Namoda council area.
Sadly, former Chair of the national union of road transport workers (NURTW) Alhaji Hamisu Kasuwa Daji, confirmed to sources that his son and  two of his grandsons where abducted by the early morning commando-style raid on the community which lasted for about two hours after bringing down the police station.
Alhaji Hamisu noted that his house is adjacent the police station which is why he could see the bandits in the dark especially when they started attacking the building which they engaged for several minutes to dislodge the personnel after killing two of the civilians JTF.
They later proceeded to his house after he fled only for him to realisNie later that they abducted his son and two grandson. “It’s painful, because as I’m speaking with you now, I don’t know what to do. My son, grand kids and my driver are with them in the bush. This is the second time bandits are attacking our town and killing of innocent residents” he noted.
Spokesperson of the Zamfara State Police Command, Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the attack adding that  “indeed there was an attack in Kasuwar-Daji early hours of today, We are yet to confirm the number of the residents abducted, but the Commissioner of Police has deployed additional Mobile Police men to the area.”
