Police Yet to Identify Victim Allegedly Chased to Death by Security Operatives, Says Delta PPRO | METROWATCH

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, in an X post on Friday, addressed claims about a young man being allegedly chased to his death by operatives of Delta Hawk, a security outfit launched by former state governor Ifeanyi Okowa, in 2020.

According to a video shared on Monday by an X user #Ofenoni, the yet-to-be-identified victim drowned at the ‘waterside in Ubeji/ Egbokodo Itsekiri in Delta state.

The post claimed that operatives of the Delta Hawks chased the young man to his death.

“Information reaching me now that Operation Delta Hawk #DeltaPoliceNGchase a boy into a nearby River ( lake ) at Deeper Life Road waterside in Ubeji/ Egbokodo Itsekiri Community, both in Warri South local government area of Delta state. #Brightgoldenboy,” the post read.

Reacting to the story, Edafe, in a tweet, said, “Please, while we are investigating, to this moment, we have not received any information from anybody on the victim’s identity and what happened apart from the post on Twitter. Anyone who can assist should please go to the Ubeji police post or A division Warri. Especially for his family.”
