Fire Razes Official Residence of Zamfara State House of Assembly Speaker

There was a fire outbreak at the official residence of Hon. Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, the Zamfara State House of Assembly Speaker located in Gusau, the State’s capital.

It was learnt that the inferno occurred over the weekend.

Thankfully, there were no reported deaths, but the damage was extensive, with millions of Naira’s worth of property lost.

In a press release through the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Bello Madaro, the House’s Clerk, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu, conveyed shock on behalf of the Assembly and its employees, referring to the event as a devastating disaster.

He likened the fire to an act destined by Allah, extending his sympathies to the Speaker, Hon. Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, his family, and the residents of Zurmi West.

Since the incident, numerous political leaders and supporters have paid their respects to the Speaker.

The Speaker has shown appreciation to God for the absence of any fatalities and has thanked everyone involved in putting out the fire.
