Police Launch Manhunt against Killers of Soldier in Aba

It was reported that the slain Army officer identified as Lance Corporal David  was killed in Aba on November 21, in a suspected cult-related attack.

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command CP Danladi Isa has confirmed the report about the killing of an officer of the Nigerian Army in Aba, saying that efforts are on to nab and prosecute  those behind “the heinous crime.”

It was reported that the slain Army officer identified as Lance Corporal David  was killed in Aba on November 21, in a suspected cult-related attack.

The officer was reportedly trailed to his family’s residence in Aba and killed in the presence of his parents.

But responding to questions on the matter during his end-of-the-year media briefing in his office on Friday, Isa said he personally visited the area of Aba where the incident occurred, as part of the investigation .

“The Police are on it. No culprit will be left unpunished”, the CP said.

He assured the  Abia public that his Command had activated a statewide security system to ensure the safety of lives and property, adding that a technology-based system had been installed to track suspected criminals.

CP Danladi, who said that his Command “encountered and decimated some non-state actors at various times”,  further warned  other non-state actors in Abia  to embrace peace in their own interest or face the wrath of the law.
